Grand Opening of Riccy’s Youth Cafe

We were delighted to attend the grand opening of Riccy’s Youth Cafe in Ringsend last week.  Riccy’s is a place where young people can congregate in a welcoming and supportive environment. The cafe has actually been in operation for a couple of months now and it was fantastic to go back after it has been in use.  The young people of Ringsend and Irishtown have done an amazing job in making the cafe their own through high quality murals, artwork and installations. We’re looking forward to taking part in Pecha Kucha Night 22.04.15 at The Grand Social.  A super line up of fellow speakers so we hope we can pull it all off! RICCY’s Youth Cafe Complete

Our clients, Ringsend Irishtown Community Centre, developed an existing office building at 15 Irishtown Road into a Youth Cafe. The original use of the building was a butcher shop and on stripping back the office fit out we uncovered the original butcher’s floor – a beautiful terrazzo which was restored to the cafe area. The fitted furniture and light fittings were designed and specified to form a simple, fresh material palette. Honoured with an Irish Architecture Award 2014

We’re delighted to share the news that we’ve been honoured with an Irish Architecture Award for our Farmhouse Extension under Residential Extension Category.  There were many great projects of merit in the same category – well done to all who made it to the shortlist and were awarded commendations. Here we are celebrating at the Awards Evening with David Leyden, of Hassett Leyden Architects, who won Highly Commended for their beautiful project ‘Presenting a United Front’.
