About Studio Red Architects

Our Values

Studio Red Architects was formed by Gráinne Dunne and Nicola Ryan in 2008.

We place utmost importance on sustainable, sensitive and project-specific design. We know that strong communication and working closely with clients, contractors and craftspeople will deliver beautiful buildings.

We provide flexible spaces with emphasis on long-term use, healthy construction materials and accessibility for all. We promote the use of renewable energy, low carbon materials and innovative building products and techniques.  We aim to create space for biodiversity within the built environment.

Our work extends beyond the office to include partaking in exhibitions and think tanks; collaborations with intellectual disability service providers; and guest lecturing at TUD School of Architecture.

Studio Red Architects received an Irish Architecture Award for our ‘Farmhouse Extension’ in 2014, an Irish Architecture Award Commendation in 2019 for our ‘Blackened Timber House’ project, and an Irish Architecture Award Highly Commended in Universal Design category in 2022 for our ‘House at Chapelizod’.
