A new brick spine wall and polished concrete floor were introduced when extending to the rear of an existing red brick house in Sandymount. The brick spine acts as a space definer. It also incorporates a window seat and a tunnel fireplace. The new layout is “broken plan” creating both sociable and more private spaces. A sliding door reveals a small, functional study space. The existing house was renovated whilst respecting all original features.
